EGM Notice of Meeting
Purpose: Presentation of Council ‘Self-management’ 38 year Lease
Date: Saturday 28th April 2012
Time: 3.00 p.m.
Location: Scout Hut, Grove Road
Dear Member,
This EGM meeting is being convened for the purpose of advising members of the Council’s proposal to grant Woodhouse Allotment Holders Association a new 38-year lease.
The Council has taken the decision to amend the terms of the previous lease and has presented new lease documentation for agreement. The new lease requires Allotments across the borough to take on greater responsibility themselves rather than the Council being involved. The council have presented the terms of the new lease as a ‘self-management’ lease.
Prior to engaging with the Council to sign into the new lease, the Committee are taking the opportunity to present the details of the new lease terms to all members. This is to ensure that all members are aware of the changes and the potential impact this may have on them and the terms of their tenancy agreement.
A copy of the proposed lease and supporting documents can be downloaded here: Allotment Standard Lease Incorporated Associations Final 16 3 2012.
Should you wish to discuss this matter in more detail prior to the meeting please contact either Morag Glover (Chairperson) or Andy Smith (Secretary).
In addition to the main topic above, the Committee will also take the opportunity to update on items raised for action at the 2011 AGM, in particular the issue of ‘Communication’.
You are urged to attend this meeting to ensure that you are fully aware of any potential changes that may affect your decision to continue your tenancy at the renewal date at the AGM in October 2012.
Yours sincerely,
Morag Glover
Chairperson
